The S71 still manages to pack an Enhanced Optical Zoom within its compact body, as well as iA and the useful YouTube and Facebook Uploader function.

This compact camcorder features a powerful 70x optical zoom with a 78x Enhanced Optical Zoom function that uses the effective area of the CCD to further extend the zooming power at the wide-angle setting. This makes it possible to capture beautiful images of sweeping landscapes and pull in distant subjects for dynamic close-ups.
Advanced O.I.S. keeps your movie steady when your hands are not
Hand-shake becomes increasingly noticeable with more powerful zooming, so an optical image stabilising function is essential for providing clear zoom shots without degradation. Advanced O.I.S. detects and corrects hand-shake and the addition of a new Active Mode produces clear, blur-resistant images even when shooting while walking.
Get everything in the frame with a wide-angle lens
The 33mm (35mm-lens equivalent) wide-angle setting is especially convenient when shooting video indoors or in tight spaces. It makes it possible to shoot at a close distance from the subject while fitting both the subject and the surrounding area into the frame. This has the added benefit of allowing the voice of the subject to be clearly recorded.
iA (Intelligent Auto) does the thinking for you
The iA function includes an AF/AE Tracking feature that allows moving subjects to be recorded with optimal image quality. Intelligent Contrast Control automatically adjusts brightness to maintain the best possible contrast; an addition to the five advanced functions from previous models. These features, including Face Detection, Advanced O.I.S and Intelligent Scene Selector, can be activated simply pressing the iA button.
SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Card Compatible
Using an SDXC/SDHC/SD memory card for recording media, the compact SDR-S71 is ideal for daily use. A superb resistance to external impact gives this versatile camcorder easy portability for video fun anytime, anywhere. Video clips recorded on an SDXC/SDHC/SD Memory Card can be played by simply inserting the card into the card slot of a Panasonic VIErA TV.
